Vintage Kimono Guide
Each piece at KIMONO GOHUKU begins with a carefully selected Japanese kimono, carrying its own history, craftsmanship, and beauty.
The Beauty of Vintage
Vintage kimonos may show subtle signs of age, including small marks, color variations, or minor imperfections. These characteristics reflect the unique history of each textile.
We carefully inspect our pieces and disclose noticeable imperfections in individual product descriptions. Please review the photographs and measurements before purchasing.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Many traditional Japanese kimonos were individually tailored and do not have fabric composition labels.
We examine each textile with care. However, unless professionally tested, the exact fiber composition may not always be confirmed.
Traditional kimonos often feature skilled hand-sewing, intricate dyeing, and weaving techniques that reflect generations of Japanese craftsmanship.
Our Philosophy
We believe that the beauty of a kimono extends beyond its fabric.
Through thoughtful preservation and reinterpretation, KIMONO GOHUKU seeks to carry the spirit and stories of Japanese textiles into contemporary life.
Kimono as it is. You as you are.
